With the last week of the season upon us, I decided to write an article about the playoff possibilities for the AAA teams in the Rocky Mountain Football League (RMFL). It has been an interesting season and I am sure the last week will be the same. I must admit that I am no expert on the by-laws, constitution, and rules of the RMFL; but I am going to give it my best effort. I will break it down by division automatic positions and then take on the wild-card possibilities. There are eight teams that will make the playoffs with seven being automatic spots and one wild-card spot. The North Division receives three spots for the top three teams and the Central and South Divisions get automatic spots for their top two teams. The remaining spot goes to a wild-card team. I will then go all out and predict the AAA champions. I will start with the AAA North Division. AAA North Division |

This next Saturday poses some interesting decisions for me regarding the Rocky Mountain Football League. Normally I would be covering the Cache Valley Bears team, but they will be three hours away in Idaho. That is a long drive and would take me away from home for the entire day. If I do make the trip, there are two games right off the freeway on the way home that I can catch to make it a double-header with no additional gas expense. So what do I do? I could go to the Bears game in Rexburg against the Madison Lionz and on the way home catch the Davis Cowboys and Idaho Mustangs game in Idaho Falls or I could catch the Ogden Rockets and Pocatello Predators. The Ogden Rockets playing the Pocatello Predators looks more promising as the time lines up better and would still allow me to get home at a reasonable hour Saturday night. I seem to be leaning towards that game as the most possible second game of the day if I do attend the Bears game. |

The Cache Valley Bears lost to the Ogden Rockets by one play. The scoreboard read 6 to 10 at the end of the game, but the game came down to the opening play of the game in which the Rockets scored their only touchdown. This game puts the Bears at 2 and 2 on the season and the Rockets move up to a tie with the Bears with the same record in the Rocky Mountain Football League AAA Central Division. I am working on the photographs of the game and should have them available later tonight or tomorrow afternoon. I will also have a few photos of the Logan Stampede game tonight as well. -pete- |

Tomorrow is another Saturday in the Rocky Mountain Football League. With that comes more games and more decisions. Do I attend the Cache Valley Bears and photograph their entire game, that game starts at 6 p.m., at Sky View High School or do I only attend part of it and then make it to half of the Logan Stampede game, it starts at 7 p.m. at Logan High School. Difficult decision. I have been photographing the Cache Valley Bears for many years now and know many of the players from that time. I have attended almost all of the home games and many of the away games in that time. It has been a good relationship over the years. That said, I get many more people accessing the photographs of the Logan Stampede games than I do the Cache Valley Bears games. So from a numbers perspective, it would make more sense to choose the Logan Stampede over the Cache Valley Bears. The only wild card this week is that the Cache Valley Bears are playing the Ogden Rockets and the numbers were pretty good when I photographed a game of their's this year. |

The OLD TrueAggies.com Website is still available to those who are interested. I will try to migrate as much as possible over to this new site, but there will still be some items that do not make the move. You can visit the old site at http://web.trueaggies.com for a limited time (maybe unlimited, who knows for sure). The main itmes on that site are photographs from the past seasons. -pete- |
