RMFL AAA Playoff Possibilities and Predictions

With the last week of the season upon us, I decided to write an article about the playoff possibilities for the AAA teams in the Rocky Mountain Football League (RMFL). It has been an interesting season and I am sure the last week will be the same. I must admit that I am no expert on the by-laws, constitution, and rules of the RMFL; but I am going to give it my best effort. I will break it down by division automatic positions and then take on the wild-card possibilities.

There are eight teams that will make the playoffs with seven being automatic spots and one wild-card spot. The North Division receives three spots for the top three teams and the Central and South Divisions get automatic spots for their top two teams. The remaining spot goes to a wild-card team. I will then go all out and predict the AAA champions. I will start with the AAA North Division.

Blitz Attempt to Upstage 1st Place Shock

The St. George Blitz (3-3) tried to upstage the Utah Shock (6-0) on Saturday at Cottonwood High School but came up a few points short (36-30). The game ended up within a touchdown with the Shock holding off the pesky Blitz. The Shock remains the only undefeated team in AAA and the team to beat this season. Long Day of Football -- Photos Tomorrow

I just completed a very long day of football. I started at Cottonwood High School with the Shock and Blitz game. The game turned out to be a very good game with the Shock winning 36 to 30. I then stopped in Ogden and I made almost the entire second half of the Marauders and Oilers game that the Marauders won 10 to 9. I quickly made the drive to Logan and missed the first two minutes of the Stampede and Warriorz game and 7 points. Apperently the Stampede returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

My feet are killing me and I am tired. It looks like the photos will have to wait until tomorrow. So for all you fans who want to see the photographs, please check back tomorrow after about 4 or 5 p.m. and I should have photos for all three games. I will have more from the Shock/Blitz and the Stampede/Warriorz as I was there for their entire games, but some from the Marauders/Oilers game too.

Remember to write down which ones you would like to purchase and email me after you decide which photographs you want to purchase. :)

May 16th Games -- Probable Coverage

I was looking at catching four games in two days, but with the change of the Logan Stampede game it appears I will make only two games instead. Right now I am leaning towards the Shock/Blitz game in Salt Lake in the afternoon and then the Stampede/Warriorz game in Logan that night. That would be the least amount of driving and I would be in Logan when I was done. I just don't want to drive, and pay for gas, as far as Rexburg this weekend.

I was tempted to do the Friday night game but after looking at how badly the Revolution beat the Wolverines earlier this year, I just decided it probably would not be worth attending. Watch me have to eat my words after that comment. With how things have been going it just doesn't look like it is in the cards for the Wolverines however.

I still want to see the Blitz play this year and the Shock are in first place still, so I am hoping that will be a very good game. It doesn't hurt that Cottonwood is only half as far as Sugar Salem High either. The only thing that would have made all this better is having the Stampede/Warriorz game at 6 p.m. so there would be better lighting for the game. I guess I can't ask for everything.
