The Cache Valley Bears are still alive and can still defend their Rocky Mountain Football League AAA Championship. With a win by the Bears over the Predators, 12-9, tonight and a loss by the Rockets, the Bears take the second automatic spot in the playoffs from the Central Division. The Bears will face the Revolution next weekend for a rematch of last week’s game. A game that saw the Revolution walk away with a 39 to 6 victory.

The Bears used an interesting lineup against the Predators and still held on for the victory. The game saw many Bears players in the quarterback position and no one could tell if the Bears were on offense or defense based on the players on the field. Norvel Young found the Predator’s QBs more willing to throw him the ball than the Bear’s own QBs, so he played defense and recorded two interceptions and ran one back for a touchdown.

To say the Bears offense was confusing would be an understatement, even to the Bears own players. Billy Case played quarterback until he left the game with an injury. At one time the Bears lined up Levine Tupe, Peter Shields, and Johnny Gray in the backfield with no one certain who would get the ball. Generally it went to Johnny Gray who then ran the ball. Peter Shields did have a pass attempt at one point in the game and at least two other players took snaps at QB during the course of the game.
