LOGAN, Utah -- Utah State gymnast Jessica Parenti, 39.275, took the all-around
title as the 24 th ranked Aggies, 192.175, placed second to 33rd ranked
Sacramento State, 193.750, at a home meet in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

In addition to Parenti, fellow Aggies Meagan Lewis, 39.175, and Alex Martin,
38.750, also had strong showings. Where USU came up short was in the uneven
bars and beam events where falls in both events hurt the Aggies.

Rachael Mandy crashed to the mats after missing the upper bar on one of her
releases. She finished her routine but was visibly shaken as she put her feet
down during another release where she was moving from the upper to lower
bar. Mandy received an 8.25.

Lewis followed with a solid routine, sticking her landing for a 9.775. Megan Tschida seemed to bail out of a release going from the upper to lower bar. She also received an 8.25. Martin and Parenti finished out the round for Utah State posting scores of 9.8 and 9.85 respectively.

Lewis and Parenti helped bring the USU beam score up by posting 9.825 and 9.85 respectively. While slips off the beam hurt other scores, most noticeably was Katie Oman whose fall brought her an 8.95. Sarah Johnson also fell and stumbled on dismount but still managed a 9.125.

The Aggies’ next meet will be at Southern Utah on March 3rd. They return home for two final home meets hosting Boise State on March 10 and Southern Utah on March 13. Both meets are set to begin at 6:35 pm.

Utah State will also be hosting the WAC Conference Championship meet at the Spectrum on March 25. That meet will begin at 2:00 pm.
