LOGAN, Utah --The gymnastics team opened their home schedule with their
best overall score of the year, 193.275; but it still wasn’t enough as BYU edged
out USU by 0.1 of a point with a strong showing in the final rotation.

Sophomore Katie Omann earned the all-around honors with a score of 38.850,
while another Aggie, Jessica Parenti, came in a close second with 38.750. In
addition to being the second all-around leader on the evening, Parenti won the
vault and the floor receiving a 9.8 in both events.

USU had the upper hand as a team in every event on the night except for the beam.
It wasn’t that the Aggies performed poorly, as they achieved their best beam scores
of the year (47.850), the Cougars were nearly a full point better on the beam (48.750).

The Aggies return to action next Friday as they travel to Salt Lake to take Utah. Their next meet at the Spectrum will be February 10 while they host Washington and the Texas Women’s.
